Sammy Hagar has released the video for his cover of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”, a track from his current album “Sammy Hagar & Friends.”
Directed by Arthur Rosato, the video and tune features Hagar, Journey guitarist Neal Schon, and Chickenfoot bandmates Michael Anthony and Chad Smith.
“Personal Jesus” originally appeared on Depeche Mode’s 1990 album, “Violator.”
“Sammy Hagar & Friends” marks the Red Rocker’s first solo release in five years and sees him team up with a variety of artists, including Kid Rock, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn), Neal Schon (Journey, HSAS), Chickenfoot pals Chad Smith, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani; Montrose bandmates Bill Church & Denny Carmassi, his solo band The Wabos and more.
The project debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 to score Sammy the 11th Billboard Top 25 album of his career, as well as his highest-charting solo album in 17 years – since 1997’s “Marching To Mars.”
