Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L'Wren Scott found dead in New York
Rolling Stone singer Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, has been found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York apartment.
The New York Daily News reports police sources say Wren’s body was discovered hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her apartment on 11th Avenue at around 10 a.m. Monday.
Scott was found by assistant after she received a text from the designer at 8:30 a.m. asking her to come over and let herself in with a key.
Police do not suspect foul play, a source said, but the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine a cause of death. No suicide note was found.
Jagger said via a spokesperson that he is "completely shocked and devastated by the news" of her death. He and The Rolling Stones recently arrived in Perth, Australia for the next leg of their 14 On Fire world tour.
The former model met Jagger in 2001.
Scott was born Luann Bambrough on April 28, 1964. She was raised by her Mormon adoptive parents, Ivan and Lula Bambrough, in Roy, Utah.
