Former Oasis singer (and current Beady Eye frontman) Liam Gallagher is slamming the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of the band’s 1994 debut, “Definitely Maybe.”
Gallagher took to twitter to advise fans not to buy the package.
"HOW CAN YOU REMASTER SOMETHING THAT'S ALREADY [BEEN] MASTERED. DONT BUY INTO IT. LET IT BE", he tweeted, along with, “THE OASIS YEARS THEY FORGOT TO MENTION BONEHEAD USED TO STICK FIG ROLLS UP HIS ARSE HA HA X”
Due May 19 (May 20 in North America), the reissue will be available as a standard CD and digital download of the original album; a three-disc Special Edition version including rare recordings and demos; a 12" vinyl LP featuring all the bonus CD content as a free download; and a Deluxe Box Set which features the LP and the CDs.
In addition, limited edition cassette replicas of the band's rare “Original 1993 Demos”, are available at www.oasisnet.com, including new sleeve notes from producer Mark Coyle.
“Definitely Maybe” introduced Oasis to the world with singles like “Supersonic”, “Shakermaker”, “Live Forever” and “Rock N Roll Star”, helping the album sell more than 15 million copies worldwide. It was the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK when it was released and went on to be certified 7x Platinum (2.1 million+ sales) in the band’s home country.
The project is the first in the new Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings, who will reissue Oasis's follow-up albums, 1995’s “What's The Story (Morning Glory)?” and 1997’s “Be Here Now” later this year.
The 3-disc Special Edition of “Definitely Maybe” can be pre-ordered via the Amazon link below.
