Gregg Allman will miss at least two shows during The Allman Brothers Band's current residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre due to bronchitis.
Gregg missed Friday night’s concert and will miss Saturday’s, as well.
“Beacon goers: Please be advised that, due to illness, Gregg Allman will be unable to perform on Saturday, March 22,” posted the group. “The Allman Brothers Band will perform as scheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. All remaining shows will go on as scheduled.”
Jambase reports Kofi Burbridge (ARU, Tedeschi Trucks Band) and Rob Barraco (Dark Star Orchestra, Phil Lesh Quintet) filled in for Gregg on Friday for a show that also saw guest appearances from Susan Tedeschi, Bill Evans, Devon Allman and Cyril Neville.
The Allman Brothers are currently in the middle of their final residency at the Beacon; the group will cease touring at the end of the year as they close out their 45th anniversary.
