U2 have released a video for their new track, “Invisible.”
Directed by Mark Romanek, the video was shot in black and white in a Santa Monica, California airport hangar over three days last month.
A 60-second clip premiered during the Super Bowl, launching a partnership with (RED) and Bank of America in the fight against AIDS.
In sync with its TV debut on February 2, U2 offered a 24-hr free download of the track, with sponsor Bank Of America donating $1 per download to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which provides life-saving HIV/AIDS treatment, testing and prevention services to tens of millions of people in the world's poorest countries.
The free download generated more than $3 million for the (RED) campaign.
U2 are continuing to support the cause with “Invisible” now on sale and proceeds from every iTunes download going to fight AIDS.
U2 are expected to release a new album later this spring; the set has been produced by Danger Mouse and recorded primarily at New York's Electric Lady Studios.
