Black Sabbath was honoured with a Grammy Award in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" category for the track “God Is Dead?” at the 56th annual Grammy Awards Sunday in Los Angeles.
The song from the band’s latest album, “13”, was one of three nominations; the tune was also up for “Best Rock Song”, while “13” was a contender for “Best Rock Album.”
Band members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler attended the event on Sunday.
Currently on a break from their “13” world tour, Black Sabbath will return to live action with a series of North American shows starting March 31 in New York.
The trek includes a 3-week Canadian tour that begins April 3 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and wraps April 22 in Edmonton, Alberta; it is followed by a Los Angeles stop at the Hollywood Bowl on April 26.
