A campaign to get AC/DC to the top of the UK festive charts begins this weekend.
The Courier reports a Facebook campaign urges fans to download AC/DC’s 1979 single, “Highway To Hell”, from December 15 – 21 in an effort to have the song appear as a UK Christmas No. 1.
The group now hopes to get a big boost from more than 150,000 worldwide fans who are backing the British campaign.
A spokesman for the group said: “AC/DC are celebrating their 40th anniversary as we speak. They formed in late 1973 and we are a few fans who thought it would be cool to see them at the top of the Christmas tree to celebrate their milestone."

“Highway To Hell” was the title track of the band’s 1979 album, the last featuring late singer Bon Scott.
