Eric Clapton has canceled a pair of upcoming shows due to a back injury.
Concerts scheduled this week in Vienna, Austria (Tue) and Stuttgart, Germany (Wed) have been canceled; all tickets can be returned to the box offices for refund.
“[Eric] is currently with specialists who will be able to better determine the course of treatment,” read a statement on the guitarist’s website. “He was looking forward to these concerts and regrets that he is not to be able to perform for the fans. He would like to apologize for any inconveniences these cancellations may cause and would like to thank the fans for their understanding.”
The new comes during Clapton’s current European tour in support of his new album, “Old Sock.”
His next show is scheduled for June 14th in Oberhausen, Germany; the European dates wrap up June 19th in Prague.
