David Bowie has released the video for the title track to his latest album, “The Next Day.”
Written and conceived by Bowie, the film was created as a companion piece to the song lyric.
Directed by Floria Sigismondi, the clip co-stars French actress Marion Cotillard and actor, filmmaker and musician Gary Oldman.
Bowie and Oldman previously worked together on the 1996 biopic “Basquiat”; the pair also provided vocals on versions of two Bowie songs (“You've Been Around” and “The King of Stamford Hill”), on Reeves Gabrels' 1995 solo album, “The Sacred Squall Of Now.”
Upon its release, Bowie landed his first UK number 1 album in 20 years with “The Next Day,” which also became the fastest selling UK album of 2013 to date.
