Queensryche rolled into Toronto for a show at The Phoenix Concert Theatre on Thursday.
The Todd La Torre-fronted version of the band was joined by special guest Glen Drover (Megadeth, King Diamond), who left singer Geoff Tate’s version of Queensryche before playing a single show with the group.
Drover was excited about his appearance, tweeting earlier in the week, "Going up onstage with the REAL QUEENSRŸCHE and play 'Take Hold Of The Flame' this thursday at the Phoenix in Toronto. Going to be fun stuff!"
Video footage of Drover’s appearance can be viewed below; we’ve posted two different angles fans to watch.
Queensryche played to about a half-full house in Toronto, with a set that leaned heavily on the band’s first few albums.
“Great show in Toronto last night and a special thanks to Glen Drover for coming out and joining us on stage - it was a blast!!” posted the band on Friday.
Last year’s Queensryche split, where the band members fired singer Tate, resulted in legal proceedings over the band’s name; a judge has granted both versions the right to use the brand while the case is in progress.
The Todd La Torre version of the band will release an already completed studio album on June 11.
The Geoff Tate version of the group will release "Frequency Unknown" on April 23.
