Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine raves about smooth-jazz saxophonist Kenny G in a new interview.
“Most people listen to Kenny and they think about his popular stuff,” Mustaine tells U-T San Diego. “You know, he is so much better when he’s just allowed to do his thing. I left a Kenny G fan watching him because he shredded, absolutely shredded.”
“It was such a gentlemanly thing,” continued the guitarist. “He introduced me to the audience… he said, ‘You guys have a real treat here in the audience tonight’ and I’m looking around thinking, ‘Alright, who’s here?’ And he introduced me and I stood up and I’m like, ‘Hi.’ I’ve never had that happen to me before.”
Megadeth recently completed the recording of their forthcoming new album, “Super Collider.”
The project will be released June 4 via guitarist Mustaine's new label, Tradecraft, which is distributed by Universal.
Megadeth kick off their 2013 live dates May 22 in Bucharest, Romania.
