The Foo Fighters played a 3.5 hour show at the Rock The Vote concert Wednesday night in Charlotte, NC.

A 20-song set at the Fillmore expanded into a 15-song encore featuring tracks from the band’s career, along with a few choice covers of tracks by Tom Petty, Wings and Pink Floyd.

Creative Loafing Charlotte reports head Foo Dave Grohl told the crowd, “We're going to play as long as we can, and as much as we want,” before going on to perform their longest show ever, clocking in at three hours and 20 minutes, breaking their previous record, a 2011 concert in Australia that clocked in just over three hours.

The earliest hint that it was going to be a long night was when, after more than an hour and a half into the show, Grohl commented, "Can we do whatever the f**k we want to do?" before starting a cover of Wings' "Jet."

The Foos will perform in Charlotte again tonight, ahead of President Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention.
