Queen were front and center at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics on Sunday.
The band’s appearance began with video screens featuring footage of the late Freddie Mercury enticing a 1986 Wembley Stadium crowd to sing along with his vocal gymnastics – a tradition at Queen shows back in the day.
Guitarist Brian May appeared next, peeling off squealing guitar riffs and power chords as they bounced around Olympic Stadium.
Drummer Roger Taylor rose from below the stage at midfield as he and May kicked into the massive drum beat for “We Will Rock You.”
UK pop singer Jessie J arrived next to handle vocals for the band’s classic tune.
As for video of the performance, the International Olympic Committee continue to shut down online videos of the closing ceremony, instead directing viewers to their own youtube page (as you’ll see when you click the video below), while not offering clips of the entire event.
