Green Day had a few surprises for their UK fans over the weekend.
The band played an unscheduled set at the Reading Festival on Saturday, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong tweeting the news just before the group hit the stage.
"Green day - READING FESTIVAL CONFIRMED!! On stage in 45 minutes! In the NME / RADIO 1 tent. 11am!! Be there!" tweeted Armstrong.
The band’s hour-long set covered most of their career, and included the debut of “Stay The Night,” a new track from the forthcoming “Uno” album due out next month, as well as the project’s lead single, “Oh Love.”
Green Day will release their trilogy of new albums – “¡Uno!,” “¡Dos!,” and “¡Tré!” - on September 25th, 2012; November 13th, 2012, and January 15th, 2013, respectively.
