Metallica’s inaugural Orion Music + More festival happened this weekend at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
In addition to more than 30 artists on the bill, Metallica headlined both nights. On Saturday, they played their classic “Ride The Lightning” album in its entirety and, for the first time ever in the U.S., performed the “Black” album on Sunday.
Drummer Lars Ulrich shared a message from backstage at Orion late Sunday afternoon.
“I just want to let everyone know out there in cyberworld that we’re having a great time,” said Lars. “This thing is so much fun. It’s been great…crazy...good vibes; everybody’s psyched, everybody’s positive.”
Lars filed his report from the Hit The Lights Films tent, which featured movies all hand-picked by the drummer, and each with a special connection to him and/or Metallica.
