Speculation over the reasons behind this week’s abrupt postponement by Van Halen of their summer US tour continues as fans wait for official word from the band.

On Thursday, VH postponed 31 newly-announced dates of its “A Different Kind Of Truth” tour without explanation.

An initial report by Rolling Stone claimed that “a source with knowledge of the tour tells the magazine that Van Halen's members ‘hate each other.’ Adds the source, ‘The band is arguing like mad. They are fighting.’”

On Friday, gossip site TMZ speculated that the news was because the guys in the band felt like the current schedule was "too much, too fast" and they were "losing their focus." The site quoted a source "close to the band" as saying "They're simply burned out" and adding, "They want to make sure their concerts are not a routine ... they want every performance to be special." The members of the group want to take some time to "recharge their engines" and return to the road with a renewed energy and enthusiasm.

Fan site the Van Halen News Desk added to the speculation by saying that “no one in the band is sick. No health problems,” adding that “Rolling Stone’s ‘source’ is completely wrong because all four band members have been getting along throughout the entire tour.”

The VHND further claims that “the band is on such a high from playing together this year and they were really taken aback by the Rolling Stone quote. They’re older and wiser and haven’t had any issues with one another.”

While the rumors continue, we’ll await official word from the band regarding their plans.
