At his first solo show to launch the new project, Slash played the city's intimate Phoenix Concert Theatre, where he performed a mix of solo material, Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and Slash’s Snakepit tracks – and – the debut live performance of his new single, “You’re A Lie.”
One of the Canadian media outlets Slash visited was CBC Radio’s cultural affairs show, “Q.” The guitarist sat down with host Jian Ghomeshi to discuss a variety of topics, including how Slash’s style works with the variety of singers he’s partnered with through the years.
“I would think that my style changes a little bit to fit with the accompanying vocal," Slash explains. "I have a certain whatever [sound] that’s me, but I think my approach alters a little bit depending on who I’m working with.”
“Guitar, for me, is actually its own version of singing,” he adds, “And so it has to interact with the person who’s doing the actual, verbal singing…so it really influences the notes you pick in certain places.”
