Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood says the band will meet in a recording studio later this month "to just throw some ideas around."
The Mirror reports Wood says the band is regrouping "to get the feel again."
He also added that The Stones' 50th anniversary was like training for something big. "It's like working out for the Olympics or something," Wood said. "You've got to go into training. So we're going to go into training."
Wood made the comments in an interview following a press conference for his exhibition, "Faces, Time and Places," which features his own paintings.
Last month, Keith Richards told Rolling Stone magazine that the band will not play shows this year to mark their 50th.
"Basically, we're just not ready," said Keith. Instead, 2013 is the new goal. "I have a feeling that's more realistic.”
As for Wood, he’ll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on Saturday as a member of The Faces, along with Rod Stewart. It will be the second induction for Wood; The Rolling Stones were inducted in 1989.
