Guns N’ Roses wrapped their “Up Close And Personal” Tour on Monday night at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood.
The third and final Los Angeles show had a few surprises for fans, including the band’s covers of The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers” – played for the first time since 1993 - and “Mama Kin” by Aerosmith, last performed in 1992.
The mini-US tour of intimate theatres gave fans a chance to see the band in smaller venues than the standard arena-sized event.
Up next for GNR is the original group’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Set for April 14 in Cleveland, there’s still no real word on the status of the band’s activities for the evening, including whether or not they’ll reunite on stage to perform a few songs for the occasion.
Hall Of Fame musical director Paul Shaffer made news last week when a staff member at Envision Radio Networks sent out a tweet – under Shaffer’s name – saying that GNR will not be performing at the event.
A rep for the radio company admitted the tweet was “inadvertent,” but did not deny its accuracy; no word on whether the staff member responsible, and his/her supervisor, were reprimanded or released from their role with the company for posting the information while bringing Shaffer’s – and the company’s - reputation and credibility into question.
GNR launch a spring tour of the UK and Europe on May 17 in Dublin.
