Bruce Springsteen's new release, “Wrecking Ball,” debuts at #1 on the UK album charts.
The Official Charts Company reports Springsteen secured his 9th UK #1 album with sales of 74,000 copies.
The Boss held off a new release by the Military Wives, who landed at #2 with 56,000 in sales.
The debut US chart position for “Wrecking Ball” will be released later this week.
Springsteen and the E Street Band launch their 2012 tour this Sunday (18) in Atlanta; a series of European dates begins May 13 in Seville, Spain.
