The Van Halen nation is on the verge of its return to glory with the Tuesday release of “A Different Kind Of Truth.”
It’s been 28 years since David Lee Roth and the Van Halen brothers put out an album, and the last one – “1984” – did big business for the band, reaching diamond status in the States alone with sales of more than 10 million copies.
While no one is expecting those types of numbers in the music business these days, Van Halen have delivered an album worthy of their classic era, with riffs flying fast and furious behind Roth’s vocals.
VH have offered up another song preview before the release hits the States: a blazing rocker called ”Outta Space.”
Like the bulk of the new album, this track has a history from the VH club days: originally known as “Let’s Get Rockin’,” the track was recorded for the Gene Simmons-financed demos in 1976, and it was re-recorded a year later as part of the 1977 Warner Brothers demos.
Roth has redone the lyrics for “Outta Space,” but the essential riffs remain in place.
