American Idol returns for Season 11 on Wednesday, which means judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson are busy appearing on all kinds of programs to promote the premiere.
On Tuesday, Tyler will be a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about Idol and, possibly, a few other things – including his recent engagement to Erin Brady, as well as an update on the new Aerosmith album due later this spring.
"I love Aerosmith!" raves Ellen in a promo for the episode. “My momma used to sing me to sleep every night, she would sing ‘Livin’ on the Edge’ and I would just conk right out.”
Only 10 years younger than Tyler, Ellen was 35 when the track was released in 1993.
Last weekend, Steven was asked about the Aerosmith project during an Idol press conference for the Television Critics Association.
“All of it's been written but I’ve got to lay lyrics on it and I haven’t had a lot of time,” said Tyler, reports The Hollywood Reporter. “What I’ve listened to so far knocked me out. I know a good song and I know what gets played on the radio. I’m not that pretentious to say we’ve got hits, but we’ve got something and that’s all that matters.”
