We now have the answer.
“Who will be invited, obviously, is the original five [that made ‘Appetite For Destruction’] and [keyboardist] Dizzy [Reed] and [drummer] Matt [Sorum],” said Joel Peresman, President and CEO of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation, during an interview Monday on Sirius/XM’s Eddie Trunk Live.
The five GNR members from the Appetite lineup are Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler.
With the addition of keyboards in the band, Dizzy joined in 1990; a few months later, Sorum replaced Adler following Steven’s firing in July of that year.
As for which members of the GNR family will be on hand for the April 14, 2012 induction, here’s what was discussed:
Trunk: “Have you heard from all the respective camps, cuz these guys all have different representation, as to how this is going to go down?”
Peresman: “No. How it’s going to go down?”
Trunk: “Who’s coming?”
Peresman: “Well, everyone said they’re coming.”
Trunk: “They’ve all RSVP’d, so to speak?”
Peresman: “Ya. I mean, I haven’t spoken directly to someone from Matt’s camp, yet, or from Dizzy, but spoken to everybody else…and everybody else said they’re coming.”
Trunk: “So Axl has accepted and said he’ll be there...”
Peresman: “They’ve said they’re coming.”
Trunk: “And he [Axl] knows everyone else has accepted?”
Peresman: “Well, obviously, yeah.”
The 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Saturday, April 14, 2012. The ceremony and concert will be recorded by HBO for broadcast in early May.
