The pair sit down for an interview at Tyler’s New Hampshire home, recorded this past September, for the series’ 2-hour premiere on Sunday, January 1 from 9-11 p.m. on OWN TV.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the debut episode, Winfrey and Tyler cover everything from the Aerosmith singer’s years of drug addiction, his complicated relationships with his wives, and American Idol.
It’s expected that much of the material discussed will be inspired by Tyler’s book, “Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?,” which debuted at #2 on the New York Times Hardcover Non-Fiction Best Sellers List in May.
"After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs,” said Oprah. “I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever - moving around the country and the world talking to people I'm really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too. It is so energizing to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas.”
Oprah’s visit to Sunapee, NH in the fall caused enough fuss and attention that local police escorted Winfrey, at times, around the small town.
