VIDEO: 1970s-era New York Dolls coming to DVD

Trip back to the early 70s for a new DVD featuring footage of the New York Dolls from the era.

At the time, Rock photographer Bob Gruen, who shot all the major acts of the day, also hooked up with the Dolls; he and wife Nadya Beck filmed over 40 hours of the band, capturing rock history as it developed before their eyes.

Gruen and Beck have previously released much of this material in the 2006 documentary, “All Dolled Up,” but it is presented in a more straightforward, traditional video way this time around.

Due November 22, a new package, “Lookin’ Fine On Television,” features 15 live cuts shot during the band’s formative years - from early shows in NYC all the way to the TV studios, clubs and swimming pools of Los Angeles.

The Dolls toured the States this past summer with Motley Crue and Poison, and are currently playing shows in Australia.
