Slash to debut new songs at two private LA shows

Slash and his band are in the studio working on pre-production recordings for his second solo release, due out next spring.

Now, the guitarist has posted that he’ll be sharing some of the new material with fans:

“At pre pros end we're doing 2 live private shows in LA to stretch our legs w/the new stuff b4 we record. Details tba. RnFn'R!”

Slash and company have been at Barefoot Studios with Eric Valentine getting songs down on tape before reviewing what will make the final cut for the 2012 release.

The private shows are a good way for Slash to test what stuff works in a live setting for both the band and its fans, as they’ll be able to instantly gauge fan reaction.

Last week, Slash gave That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk a private preview of his work-in-progress, and the reaction was strong.

“Just back from the studio. Ruff mixes sound great. Played a few for Eddie Trunk. Said he dug it. I'm doing TMS 2morrow, we'll see,” posted Slash.

Trunk also shared his thoughts, saying “Killer kick ass stuff! For those asking for more info on the @Slash album I can tell you the 3 songs I heard are heavy with killer riffs and vocals. Out next April”

The three songs Trunk sat through are currently titled "Halo," "Standing In The Sun" and "Bad Rain.”

Slash’s new live DVD - “Slash: Made In Stoke – 24/7/11” - will be released November 15 on DVD and Blu-ray.
