In the midst of a South American tour, video of Axl Rose losing it at an Argentina airport was the biggest story of the week with hennemusic readers.
The keeper of the GNR brand was apparently upset that a VIP entrance closure meant he had to get to his waiting private jet through fans – the ones who pay his bills and band spokespeople keep insisting he doesn’t disrespect – by freaking out on a fan who approached his SUV as it pulled up outside a public entrance to the terminal.
A few curse words here and there (no disrespect intended?) and Axl was helped by security to get as far away from his fans as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, the video was removed from youtube late in the week, so we can’t offer an encore presentation here – just a sign that you just never know how long things are going to stay active on the video channel.

At #2, more GNR, as the band trickles out 5 more dates for the upcoming US tour. The brand landed again at #9, as well, with former member Gilby Clarke saying the current GNR doesn’t sound like GNR to him, but more of an Axl solo project. And, yet again at #10, with the Rock In Rio promoter stating that he felt Rose disrespected the Brazilian fans with his late appearance at the festival, for which the group issued a response a day later.
Rush come in at #3 with news that their Canadian label is issuing three separate six-disc box sets next month: “Sectors” will span the group’s entire Anthem Records recording career.
The first of two Van Halen items lands at #4, with Alex Van Halen’s 1980 drum kit now on display at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum. A new promo photo of David Lee Roth is at #7, as fans continue to wait for any news on why the plans for the completed new album are taking so long to be made public.
Depending on your take about rock songs in tv commercials, you may or may not dig the news that Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” is featured in a new car ad, which is #5 on the HH10. The creators of the commercials did a fine job conceptually and the vision is executed well, but whether or not it’ll make you buy the product is all up to you. Check the video out via the #5 link above if you haven’t seen it.
Other big stories this week on the HH10 include a screening of a full 1970 Black Sabbath concert, filmed just two months after the release of the band’s second album, “Paranoid”; and Chickenfoot playing a surprise gig during Sammy Hagar’s birthday bash week in Cabo, where the band played on the second of four nights during the Red Rocker’s 64th birthday festivities.
