Neil Young: 25th Annual Bridge School concerts announced

Dave Matthews, Arcade Fire, Eddie Vedder and Foo Fighters are just a few of the acts joining Neil Young at his Bridge School Benefit concerts this fall.

The 25th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts will be on October 22, 2011 at 5pm and October 23, 2011 at 2pm at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.

Tickets for the two-day festival go on sale on September 16 through Live Nation.

Organized by Neil and his wife, Pegi, the Bridge School Benefit Concert is an all-acoustic, non-profit charity event held every October; all proceeds from the event directly benefit the operations of The Bridge School.

Founded in 1986 by Pegi Young and Jim Forderer, with help from Dr. Marilyn Buzolich, the Bridge School develops and uses advanced technologies to aid in the instruction of children with disabilities. Young's involvement stems, at least partially, from the fact that both of his sons have cerebral palsy and his daughter, like Young himself, has epilepsy.

The first benefit concert, in 1986, raised the money necessary to start the school, which opened in ’87.
