In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, tickets to the show were priced at $9.11, with all revenue from the event to benefit the families of 9/11 victims. Atlantic Records will match Staind's donation from ticket sales for a separate additional donation to the charity.
"As the release of our new album coincides with the 10th anniversary of 9/11, we wanted to use the attention to make the point that there is still much work for all of us to do," said Staind singer Aaron Lewis. "We are deliberately making the ticket price $9.11 to underscore the point that if enough of us do just a little bit, together we can make a big difference in the lives of the families whose members made the supreme sacrifice for our country."
Staind’s new self-titled album was released on Tuesday.
