Hmm…for a guy who claims to be a marketing genius, I wonder if Gene Simmons of KISS thought this particular promotion through.
When we last saw Gene, he was on his knees proposing to longtime pal Shannon Tweed on their alleged reality series. The season finale was designed as a cliffhanger, as Gene pops the question, Shannon looks scared out of her mind, and then the audience is left to wonder what happened….until the start of next season, that is.
But the word is out, thanks to one of Gene’s representatives.
Reuters reports Gene’s people have confirmed the avowed bachelor will marry Tweed on October 1 at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.
And the “cliffhanger” will air a few days after that on TV – so we can all see what Tweed’s answer was.
People magazine snagged a copy of the wedding invitation (see below), as the duo requests that their guests don “classy cocktail attire,” but note that, “we know some Rockstar attire will be worn.”
Accompanying the invitation is a letter from the couple’s two children, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19.
“After 28 years of two loose strings, our parents have finally decided to tie the knot,” the letter reads. “Our Mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our Father’s life… well it doesn’t change much.”
Wonder if Vegas is taking odds on Gene getting down and dirty with some “pals” during his bachelor party?
