The new Dream Theater album, “A Dramatic Turn Of Events,” is only a few weeks away, as it hits stores September 13.

The disc marks the recording debut of new drummer Mike Mangini, who played his first live DT gig in Rome in early July.

Last month, DT released “On The Backs Of Angels” - the first single from the disc, and have since shared previews of three additional tracks (check out the “See also” section below for links).

DT’s label caught up with Mangini at last month’s High Voltage Festival to see how his first few weeks had gone, as well as to discuss the audition process he went through to join the band.

“I wasn’t nervous,” recalled Mangini about the audition. “I couldn’t wait to get in there and play and I think that’s because everything felt so natural.”
