VIDEO: U2 pays tribute to Amy Winehouse

Singer Amy Winehouse’s passing on Saturday has dominated entertainment headlines for the past few days, as friends, family and fans tried to make sense of the event.

The 27 year-old was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, the cause of death unknown, as today’s initial autopsy proved inconclusive; further toxicology tests are in motion, with results expected in a few weeks.

Among the touring musicians who have paid tribute to Winehouse are U2, who dedicated a song to her Saturday evening in Minneapolis, just hours after news broke of her death.

“We wrote this next song for Michael Hutchence [of INXS],” began the introduction by Bono. “But you will understand if, tonight, we play it for Amy Winehouse.”

And with that, Bono and The Edge performed an acoustic version of “Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” from 2000’s “All That You Can’t Leave Behind.”

U2 are currently playing the final dates of their 2 year-long 360 World Tour, which wraps up July 30 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
