The bassist has announced the news that Chickenfoot fans have been waiting to hear: the band’s new album is set for release on September 27.
“The first single, ‘Bigfoot,’ is scheduled to hit the airwaves sometime in July,” posted Anthony.
No word yet on the sophomore album title, but Anthony says it won’t be the “Chickenfoot IV” idea Sammy Hagar was goofing around with in the press earlier this spring while promoting his autobiography, “Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock.”
Other song titles rumored to appear on the album include "Last Temptation," "Something's Gone Wrong," "Dubai Blues," "Different Devil," "No Change," "Who's Next" and "Astral Years."
Should Chickenfoot plan to tour for the new album, they’ve already said they won’t have drummer Chad Smith along for the ride, as he has returned to his duties with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as that band launches and tours a new record. A possible touring replacement for Smith has yet to be announced by the band, should it start considering dates in his absence.
