Guitar Aficionado magazine traveled to Hawaii to hook up with Metallica’s Kirk Hammett for the cover story of its July/August issue.
Hammett discusses his love of surfing, vintage guitars, and classic horror film memorabilia with unprecedented candor and detail, while also taking readers on guided tours of his Hawaiian estate and Bay Area home.
The magazine has released behind-the-scenes footage from its Hammett photo shoot in Hawaii.
Metallica recently announced that they had completed a new album with Lou Reed, recorded over the past few months at the band’s HQ.
The metal icons are set to play a series of Big 4 shows – and some of their own – next month across Europe, as well as a few Canadian dates.
