In Canada, we’d probably call this trip a “twofer,” eh.
Metallica have added a second Canadian concert to their summer schedule, as they’ll be hitting Halifax in mid-July.
Here’s the word from Metallica:
“One More For Canada”
“We're making it a two city Canadian tour as we head to Halifax, Canada for the Rock the Hill festival on July 14, 2011 at Halifax Garrison Grounds. The relatively new festival will also include Matt Mays, Protest the Hero, Seether, and Coheed and Cambria.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 12, 2011 at noon local time and will be available at RockTheHill.ca or by phone at 1-877-569-7767.
General Admission tickets are $99.50 and there are a limited number of VIP tickets for $199.50. Service charges and taxes will apply to all ticket orders. VIP ticket holders will have access to the front of stage pit, their own entrance and concessions, and the all important special washrooms. Met Club members should log in for information about their pre-sale.
That's going to do it for us in July, but certainly not for 2011 . . . as we like to say, keep watching here!”
The Halifax gig is just two days before Metallica’s appearance at Quebec's Summer Festival (Festival d'été de Québec) on July 16 in Québec City. Joe Satriani will open the concert, part of the 44th edition of the event, which runs July 7-17 and features 300 shows spanning 11 days, making it Canada's biggest outdoor artistic event.
