Keith Richards sang the “Tattoo You” track, and now his daughter has taken the song - and, conceptually, the album title - to the streets.
Literally.
Theodora Richards was arrested in New York Tuesday evening after she was caught leaving a graffiti tag on a building in Lower Manhattan.
The New York Times reports that the tag appears that it might be, among other things, a reference to the song Ms. Richards’s father sang: it consists of a T, a symbol for a heart, and an A, according to a law enforcement official.
The authorities said they were unsure what, exactly, the letters referred to.
Ms. Richards, of 225 Lafayette Street, who will turn 26 on March 18, was charged with making graffiti, possession of a graffiti instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, the police said. The graffiti instrument, a police official said, was a “paint marker.”
The incident unfolded about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, when uniformed officers from the First Precinct saw a woman making marks on a wall on the exterior of a building at 190 Prince Street, in the SoHo neighborhood.
The arrest was fairly unremarkable, according to officials; no one else was arrested with Ms. Richards, and the fact that she was Mr. Richards’ daughter only emerged hours later, on Wednesday morning.
