James Durbin to bring AC/DC, Ozzy, Iron Maiden to American Idol

Last week’s hell-raising cover of the Judas Priest classic, “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” by James Durbin, brought metal to the American Idol stage in a big way.

Durbin has more metal in store for the reality show.

But first, Durbin has to shake the early comparisons to previous Idol contestant Adam Lambert.

"I'm kind of tired of answering that question,” Durbin tells TV Guide. “We're completely different people stylistically, tone-wise. The only similarity that we have is the high note.”

“He put his foot in the door; I want to try and put my foot straight through the door,” continues James. “He did some rock, I liked it. I want to do some metal like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Ozzy, Sabbath."

Durbin gets another chance to rock the house on this week’s Idol.
