Helix: Best Of compilation due this Fall

Canadian rockers Helix are headed into the studio soon to record three new tracks for a new Best Of compilation due this Fall.

Helix frontman Brian Vollmer issued the following update:

"In the next month we’ll be going into A Studios to record three new tracks: “Champagne Communist,” “When the Bad News Blues Come Calling” and “Angelina.”

The three new songs will be used as 'bonus' tracks on a compilation CD set for a fall release entitled “Running Wild In The 21st Century - The Best Of 2000-2010."

At the end of 2010, Helix released an unplugged collection of their greatest hits entitled “Smash Hits...Unplugged,” which features a dozen tracks that span their career, including “Rock You,” “Heavy Metal Love,” “Deep Cuts The Knife” and their cover of the Canadian hit by A Foot In Coldwater, “(Make Me Do) Anything You Want.”

Helix are playing shows around Ontario this spring, including some acoustic gigs to promote the latest record.

“We’re also toying with the idea of possibly recording our acoustic show at the Aeolian Hall here in London on Wednesday, May 11,” said Vollmer. “Tickets are now on sale for this show and we’re hoping for a sell-out. You can contact me at bvollm0656@rogers.com for tickets.”
