At last weekend’s event, Jagger led a tribute to soul singer Solomon Burke, who died last year. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer opened for the Stones several times during his career comeback, late in life.
Jagger was joined by Raphael Saadiq for “Everybody Needs Somebody To Love,” a song co-written by Burke that the Stones used to kick off shows back in the band’s early years. Many people are also familiar with the song from the Blues Brothers' first movie.
Mick last appeared on a Grammy telecast in 1986, when he and the Stones appeared via satellite to receive a lifetime achievement award presented by Eric Clapton.
