The video has finally surfaced.
As he travels the globe, Hetfield has developed an interesting theory on how he can predict the vibe of an audience, in advance of a show.
“If you see the way people drive in a city, you will see how good the audience is,” says James, “or you can gauge what an audience is like. For instance, in Japan: very polite, very together, everyone is organized – and same with the audience. Very organized, very emotional, very appreciative – but very respectful, and they love to listen to what you have to say.”
“And say, maybe in Buenos Aires,” continues Hetfield, “it’s a little different. Everyone’s racing for the end…and it’s like that at the concert, as well.”
The interview features a clip of “Creeping Death,” taken from the band’s September 25 show in Tokyo.
