Musicians who revel in tech talk will love the new clip from Marshall Amplification and LickLibrary.com featuring guitar master Joe Satriani.
Currently on a European swing in support of his new disc, “Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards,” Satriani gives a guided tour to explain – in precise detail – the gear he is using in his live setup these days.

Hammersmith Apollo – London, UK – October 19, 2010
If that isn’t enough tech talk for ya, Joe has more on his Gear page online here.
“Black Swans” had a strong debut on the Billboard charts last month, kicking off at #45, Joe’s highest opening chart position ever. The album comes out while Satriani is on a short break from Chickenfoot (or, is that the other way around?); he plays European dates through to the end of this month before a 2-month North American tour starts December 1 in Atlanta.
Satriani’s current band includes keyboardist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), bassist Allen Whitman (Mermen) and veteran Jeff Campitelli on drums, all who are featured on the new disc.
Joe has put together a whole media series of videos and podcasts to introduce fans to his new music; the features are available on his website.
A podcast series features individual videos for each of the tracks on the record, while the webisode series goes in depth with Joe with exclusive interview and studio footage.
In Webisode #2, Joe talks about the influences leading into the new album and how he put together his current band lineup, plus we get a look at some improv jams as the band loosens up in the studio.
