What would a one-hour lesson with one your musical heroes be worth to you?

For some fan, a one-hour private drum lesson with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich just came in at $35,000.

Ulrich donated his time as part of a package auctioned off last Saturday at Andre Agassi’s 15th annual Grand Slam For Children charity event in Las Vegas.

Ulrich’s lessons were just one item, among many, that helped the Andre Agassi Foundation For Education raise more $8.5 million dollars for its cause: creating educational opportunities for underserved youth in the Las Vegas area.

The description of Lars’ drum lesson package, as offered:

"Want to be a rock star for a day? This is the experience you never dreamed money could buy. You and your guest are headed to METALLICA's headquarters in San Francisco. Here, in this exclusive space, you will meet the co-founder of one of the greatest rock bands of all time; Lars Ulrich.
