Dave has been keeping a low profile since Van Halen’s 2007/08 tour wrapped up. There was a rare DLR sighting last month at a Scottish Gathering And Games in Pleasanton, California (for more details, see “David Lee Roth on new Van Halen music” here).
Rumours continue about a possible new VH album and tour in 2011, fueled by various sources, including Roth, who told a fan at the Scottish gathering, “You’ll be hearing from us in the next 7-8 months.”
Basically, spring 2011.
VH manager (and Live Nation Ticketmaster chairman) Irving Azoff recently commented on the relatively poor health of the current concert industry, suggesting Van Halen, Christina Aguilera, Fleetwood Mac and the cast of Glee as some of the artists that are expected to pack stadium and arenas when they embark on tours next year. VH's 2007/08 tour grossed $93 million for Live Nation.
In honor of Dave’s birthday, here’s some classic footage of the Diamond one in action…
