While only two songs made it to air, McCartney and crew actually played a full 30-minute set on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theatre - Letterman’s home, and the historic building where The Beatles initially took America by storm with their February 9, 1964 appearance on Sullivan.
The additional 5 tracks not included on the show were available as a live, streaming webcast.
I hadn’t seen the extra footage before, so thought I’d dig it out to share, in case you maybe hadn’t seen it, either.
I did the same thing recently with the full Hoodoo Gurus set from the 2009 Sound Relief concert in Australia.
