According to various media reports, Bret was released from a San Antonio, Texas hospital yesterday following an emergency appendectomy Sunday night.
Reports say Michaels was complaining of stomach pains all day and was sent to hospital just before he was due on stage for one of his solo shows. Initial tests revealed Michaels’ appendix was close to bursting, and he was rushed into emergency surgery. Having an appendix burst can be fatal; I had the same surgery in high school when mine was close to bursting, so know exactly what’s involved in the whole process.
Michaels has reportedly cancelled tour dates for the next month while he recovers.
